Özet

Bu çalışma, okul öncesi eğitimde oyunun öğrenme sürecindeki işlevini ele alarak, özellikle problem çözme ve sosyal etkileşim becerileriyle ilişkisini açıklamayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, kuramsal bir derleme niteliğinde olup farklı disiplinlerde yapılmış güncel çalışmalar incelenerek ortak kavramsal sonuçlar sentezlenmiştir. Elde edilen değerlendirmeler, çocuğun oyun sırasında deneme yapma, strateji geliştirme ve hatayı yeniden düzenleme fırsatı bulduğunda problem çözme becerisinin belirgin biçimde geliştiğini göstermektedir. Bunun yanında grup oyunları ve hayali rol canlandırmaları, çocukların başkalarının duygu ve düşüncelerini fark etme, işbirliği yapma ve anlaşmazlıkları müzakere etme becerilerini güçlendirmektedir. Bu süreçlerin etkili şekilde ilerleyebilmesi için öğretmenin oyuna yön veren değil, düşünme sürecini destekleyen bir kolaylaştırıcı rol üstlenmesi önem taşımaktadır. Ayrıca çocukların oyunu kendi akışları içinde sürdürebilecekleri esnek ve materyal açısından çeşitli öğrenme ortamlarının oluşturulması, oyun temelli öğrenmenin derinliğini artırmaktadır. Bu bakış açısı, oyunun erken çocukluk eğitiminde temel bir gelişimsel öğrenme bağlamı olarak ele alınması gerektiğini göstermektedir.
