INTEGRATION OF TECHNOLOGY INTO SPORTS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SPORT MANAGEMENT: THE CASE OF CYBATHLON

Abstract

In today's world, where it is difficult to keep up with technological developments, it is exciting to see that the innovations are integrated into every moment of life. Sports is a very large industry, which is one of the areas that can adapt quickly to technology. Sports fields, sports equipment, personalized training techniques, results and statistics applications, decision-making elements, developments in sports media and mass media and innovations made in the light of these developments, in this big industry, various investment opportunities, especially the growth target due to the competitive environment, have been carefully followed by large companies. In this study, besides the benefits of the technological systems used in sports in terms of organization, athletes and audience, the effects they have on disabled individuals has been examined. In this context, the aforementioned developments were examined in the axis of the Cybathlon Organization, which is an important example of the reflection of digitalization on sports since 2016. Six disciplines in the content of the mentioned competitions and the tracks in these disciplines were discussed. In the adaptation of the technological developments to sports, the perspectives of the decision-making institutions in sports management and the policies are evaluated.
