Abstract

Foreign direct investment (FDI) plays an important role in the economic development of countries. In this context, the aim of the research is to measure the FDI attractiveness performances of the G7 countries, which dominate a significant part of the global capital, with the MULTIMOORA method. According to the findings, the foreign investment attractiveness performance values of the countries with the MULTIMOORA method were determined as USA, England, France, Japan, Canada and Italy, respectively. In addition, within the framework of the MOORA-Ratio, MOORA-Reference Approach, it has been determined that the countries below the average FDI attractiveness performance value are Japan, Canada and Italy, and the countries above the average value are the USA, England, Germany and France. According to the MOORA-Perfect Product method, it has been observed that the countries below the average FDI attractiveness performance value are France, Japan, Canada and Italy, while the countries above the said average value are the USA, England and Germany. Accordingly, appropriate strategies, methods, managements and policies for attracting foreign investment in order for the countries of Japan, Canada and Italy, which are below the average foreign investment attractiveness performance value according to the MOORA-Ratio and MOORA-Reference methods, to be in harmony with other G7 countries in terms of foreign investment attractiveness. concluded that it needs improvement.
