Abstract

It is possible for the individuals in the working life to present their experience and knowledge in their efficiently and effectively with the existence of a working environment that can meet their expectations. Organizational cynicism expresses the negative attitude that a person develops towards the organization he / she works for, and cynicism taking place in organizational structures can harm the functioning of the organization. Most scientists identified demographic variables such as educational status, age, marital status, gender, and working time as individual factors affecting organizational cynicism. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the demographic variables and organizational cynicism differences of the marble sector employees operating in Sivas Organized Industrial Zone. The sample of the study consists of 144 employees. Organizational cynicism scale developed by Brandes (1997) was used in the study. Factor analysis, Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann Whitney U-test, Scheffe (post-hoc) test were used in the analysis of the data. According to the findings of the research; The scale of organizational cynicism, age groups and marital status of the employees by scale was considered statistically insignificant. It was found statistically significant that the gender, educational status, working time and the availability of administrative positions of the participants differ according to the scale.
