Abstract

Miniature art, as in other visual arts; It is one of the oldest branches of art that makes it easier to transfer information. This branch of art, especially in books, served to increase the intelligibility of the information written. Miniature art, which has many characteristics such as color, perspective and light, has been the subject of many researches from past to present and has been defined many times. In this study, it was sought to answer the questions of how miniature art was formed in pre-Islamic and post-Islamic periods and how it intertwined with graphic design, which has been influential in almost every aspect of our lives in the modern world. Miniature art was reinterpreted in graphic design systems with the participation of Yıldız Technical University students. According to the results obtained, it is possible to create it in digital environment by adhering to the essence of miniature art. However, a true / false interpretation cannot be made in the works where graphic design and miniature are combined. The work is shaped entirely by the level of understanding, imagination and ability of the person who makes it.
